Bullas natural winery: it is an experience that combines a visit to the museum with a visit and tasting in a winery, food in a restaurant and a visit to the Don Pepe Marsilla house museum and a walk through the old town of Bullas.
Our starting point will be the Wine Museum, installed on one of the largest and most productive traditional wineries of the old Kingdom of Murcia. It is a construction from the beginning of the 19th century, belonging to one of the richest and most influential families in the region: the Melgares de Aguilar.
After visiting the museum, we will go to one of the wineries that are part of the Wine Route.
After learning a little more about the history of the chosen winery, we will stop to eat at one of the restaurants on the Bullas Wine Route.
Then, we will tour the historic center of Bullas, where we can find the Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, the old Casa de los Melgares, a modernist building from 1925 that currently houses the House of Culture, and the Monument to the Winegrower, a bronze sculpture by Rafael Pi Belda, which represents the treading of grapes and serves as a tribute to all those people who have contributed to forging the culture of wine in this land.
Finally, we will visit the D. Pepe Marsilla House-Museum, a museum space where local life around the year 1900 is recreated. Inside, both the modernist style decoration of the residential part and the different rooms into which the work area was divided are preserved in perfect condition. In the winery, we can see the space dedicated to the production of wine for sale and another reserved for storing the most select wines for private consumption.
