Ecotourism and Women Travelers in the Garnacha

The tour begins at Plaza Alcalde Tabuenca Baya, visiting murals, viewpoints, and the Church of Santiago Apóstol. It includes roman remains, an ethnographic museum, theater performances, vineyard walks, and a wine tasting.

We begin the visit at Plaza Alcalde Tabuenca Baya, where we will explore the Town Hall courtyard and two murals: one dedicated to the “Weighing of the Children” and another intergenerational mural honoring all women.

Next, we head to the Río Bajo viewpoint, offering stunning views of vineyards, orchards, fields, the Huecha river valley, and the Escachamatas railway, a former train line dismantled in the 1950s.

As we walk through the village, we will visit the Church of Santiago Apóstol, known for the miracles of the Virgen del Rosario. Nearby, we will see a small Roman aqueduct called Hinchilero, a recreation of Roman baths discovered in the area, and the Fuente del Ojo, a small mineral-medicinal spring.

The tour concludes with a visit to the Valle del Huecha Center, an ethnographic museum with two floors.

Before saying goodbye, we will enjoy a tasting of D.O. Campo de Borja wine.

During the approximately two-hour visit, we will experience theatrical performances and scenic vineyard walks.
